SPIRAL SILO

The spiral silo is a type of steel plate storage equipment constructed using the spiral folding process. It was first invented in Germany, and later China introduced and vigorously developed this technology. It is widely used for storing bulk materials such as grain, cement, fly ash, and chemical raw materials.

The single silo storage capacity of a spiral crimped silo ranges from 500 to 8,000 cubic meters, and it can also be combined to form steel silo groups with larger capacities.

The construction method of spiral silos is unique: using professional rolling tools, during construction, 495mm-wide galvanized coiled plates are fed from an uncoiler into a forming machine to be rolled into the required geometric shape, then bent and interlocked by a bending machine, forming a 30mm-40mm wide, continuously encircling spiral ridge around the outer side of the silo, which structurally serves to enhance the silo's strength.

The advantages of spiral silo:

01- Constructed with galvanized sheets, it has excellent anti-corrosion performance. 02- Good sealing performance: the steel plates are bent in five layers with an inner lining of sealant. 03- Light in self-weight, resulting in lower investment in silos and foundations. 04- Machine-based construction, with a short construction period. 05- The steel silo has excellent overall performance and requires little maintenance in the later stage. 06- Assembled directly at the construction site, reducing transportation costs.
